Hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent, separately for the first two or three washes — natural dyes may release a little colour at first. Do not soak, bleach or wring.

If you machine wash, use a gentle cycle at 30°C inside a mesh laundry bag, with the garment turned inside out.

Pieces with embroidery, lace or beadwork should be dry cleaned only. Rubbing or machine agitation can lift threadwork and dull embellishment.

Dry flat or on a line in the shade — direct sun fades lawn quickly. Never tumble dry.

Iron on a cool to medium setting while the fabric is slightly damp, on the reverse side. Place a thin cotton cloth over embroidery before pressing.

Store folded in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. Let a worn garment air before putting it away, and keep embellished pieces folded with tissue between layers rather than on hangers, which can stretch the shoulders.
